“Securing Our Legacy for Future Generations”

Endowment Fund at Falmouth Jewish Congregation

In 2012, Falmouth Jewish Congregation, the Upper Cape’s only synagogue, launched a successful community campaign to significantly increase its permanent endowment to ensure the congregation’s vitality through our lifetime and for future generations. A vibrant, welcoming center for Jewish life on the Cape, Falmouth Jewish Congregation is seeking funds that will enable it to continue to be an innovative force, both within the Jewish community and beyond.

A gift to Falmouth Jewish Congregation’s Endowment Fund is an investment in our community’s future. Your gift helps to ensure that our children and grandchildren, and Jews of Cape Cod will have the same opportunity to learn and carry forward our Jewish values. We hope that each of you will participate, providing gifts that rise to the best of your giving ability and demonstrate your support of our congregational community.

Our Endowment Fund is a pool of assets held separately from Falmouth Jewish Congregation’s general funds. Our endowment supports financial sustainability, providing resources for the congregation and its current programs, as well as preparing for future needs. The larger the endowment, the more Falmouth Jewish Congregation can draw on it to support targeted programs, help to keep memberships affordable, and perform important maintenance projects.

Falmouth Jewish Congregation’s Endowment Fund is invested with Greater Boston CJP’s (Combined Jewish Philanthropies) Jewish Community Endowment Pool, which is managed by professional investment advisors. The Board of Directors may use distributed income in any way it deems appropriate, similar to how it determines how to utilize dues and current gifts.

Our current goal is to grow our Fund to $3 million. As of May 2014, we have received donations and pledges totaling over $1.9 million. To help realize this $3 million goal, the Development Committee is undertaking a major bequest campaign to increase donations to the Fund. Please remember that everyone’s gift is vital to “Securing Our Legacy for Future Generations.” Our hope is for you to name the Endowment Fund as a designated beneficiary in your estate plans, supporting Falmouth Jewish Congregation now and in the future.
