Falmouth Jewish Congregation Welcomes Rabbi Todd Zinn

FJC is thrilled to announce the selection of Rabbi Todd Zinn to succeed our long term settled rabbi, Elias Lieberman.

Rabbi Zinn completed his Rabbinic Ordination in May, 2017 at the Hebrew Union College—Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, CA, having already earned a Master of Arts in Jewish Education (2015) and a Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters (2014).  He has served as Assistant Rabbi, Associate Rabbi and Adjunct Rabbi at Chicago Sinai Synagogue from 2017-2023 and his professional experience includes the role of Director of Jewish Journeys and Enrichment for Honeymoon Israel (2022-present).

Rabbi Zinn sees a primary role for himself as an educator and teacher of the Torah and Judaism.  He focuses on establishing relationships with and creating spiritual pathways for children and youth as well as fostering a commitment to life-long learning and education.  Being a provider of pastoral care and counselor through life cycle events is another area of vital importance to Rabbi Zinn.

Rabbi Zinn’s former colleague and present senior rabbi at Chicago Sinai Congregation told our search committee “My only sadness is that we don’t have a job for him here.  I think he’s ready today to lead a community and any congregation would be so lucky to have him.”

Many thanks to our Settled Rabbi Committee which worked diligently over almost 4 months reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, ultimately hosting 2 of 8 candidates, and managing extensive reference checks to come up with a recommendation unanimously approved by the FJC Board of Directors.

The FJC community is excited about this new chapter for FJC and looks forward to a vibrant future under the leadership of Rabbi Todd Zinn, who officially begins his position on July 1, 2025.
