Mental Health Issues Facing Us Today: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Grief & Bereavement

Dr. Weiss will present four, one hour lecture/discussions followed by a thirty minute question and answer session on four current issues in mental health and wellbeing.  The lectures will be held on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00, and you can sign up for one or more lectures by emailing Pamela Rothstein at pbrohstein@comcast.net. The dates and topics of the lectures are: Sept. 5, Depression; Sept. 12, Anxiety; Sept. 19, Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; Sept. 26, Grief/Bereavement.  All members of the congregation are welcome and participants may attend any one or all sessions.

Biographical Information

Dr. Weiss has worked in the mental health field for over forty years. He has written two books and numerous articles on mental health related topics.  Dr. Weiss holds a Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapy. He has taught at three Universities, teaching undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies in Psychology along with training and supervising Licensed Professional Counselors. He was a Licensed Psychologist, a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and a Registered Art Therapist. He is currently retired and lives half the year on Cape Cod and half the year in New Orleans.
